Attendees of this year's Club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited national convention--also known as the "Fiat Freak Out"--were rewarded for their devotion to the Italian automaker. During the convention's closing dinner, the Fiat fans were given first dibs on the Fiat Cinquecento Prima Edizione, a collector's edition of the U.S.-bound Fiat 500. It’s taken fifty years, but the Ford Mustang will be officially on sale in the UK for the first time next year, sporting V8 and – gulp – four-cylinder engines. Crucially, though, the Flying Ford will be offered in right-hand drive and will come with proper, grown-up independent rear suspension. ‘In Europe we want it to be seen as a credible sports car, and second, that the Mustang and the rest of our range be held in higher opinion,’ says Ford COO Mark Fields.
The 2013 Volkswagen Golf – the Golf Mk 7 – is now on sale in the UK just weeks after its official debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Volkswagen has put the new Golf – the MK 7 version of the best-selling Golf – on sale in the UK already, with first customer cars due to arrive in January 2013 – although the range is still limited. On offer to order now in the UK is the Golf S, Golf SE and Golf GT, but if you want the new Golf GTI – or a BlueMotion of 4Motion Golf Mk 7 – you’re going to have to wait until well in to 2013 to be able to place your order.
